Welcome to Phat2Phit.com!

The beginning line of the journey to health and fitnessMy name is Frank Benjamin, and I am just a "Regular Joe" that is changing his lifestyle, eating better and losing weight. Phat2Phit is the beginning line of my journey to health and fitness. I began this blog to help reinforce my commitment to this change.

Back in 2000 I was a year out of college and started working out. Within the next year, I transformed my old beer gut into fit body and new sense of confidence. For one reason or another, over the years I returned to my old ways.

Through the years of an unhealthy lifestyle, my blood pressure and cholesterol has increased to unhealthy levels. I refuse to be bound to medication the rest of my life so I can eat a cheeseburger!

A couple years ago I began working out again. A friend of mind and I started our own "Biggest Loser" contest. I was finally motivated to use begin using my Bow-Flex and exercise bike again. By the time to contest was over, I lost around 10-12 pounds (for those wondering, we actually tied). But I knew that I could have done better. I refocused on my fitness program and began eating a healthy whole food diet and reading more about fitness and nutrition.

A few months after refocusing on my fitness plan, I had shed only another 10 pounds. But I became frustrated with the lack of results. That's when I joined a gym and got a personal personal trainer. It was a refreshing new start. I was learning new exercises and new workouts. It is then I discovered why I was experiencing the plateaus that I was seeing.

Unfortunately, during the late spring of 2009, I lost track of my fitness goals and put on almost all the weight that I had lost. After months of knowing that I had to get back to the gym and allowing my back to recover, I started back up. This time it is truly different. Along my way, and with help from this site, I hope to motivate others to begin a journey to a healthy lifestyle. Stay tuned to see how I do.
