MLK Celebration 2025

Every January, Washtenaw Community College celebrates MLK Day through several events over the course of the month. Our 2025 MLK theme, Living King’s Legacy: Making the Dream a Reality, explores the ways in which ĢƵ students, faculty, staff, and community members are working to create meaningful change and bring to life. Thu Jan 16th 3:30pm - 5:00pm

All are invited to attend ĢƵ's 19th annual MLK Celebration from 3:30-5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, on the second floor of the Student Center.


Thu Jan 23rd 11:30am - 12:30pm

ĢƵ students, faculty, alumni, and friends are invited to a writing workshop facilitated by ĢƵ English/College Readiness instructors Ernesto Querijero and Tom Zimmerman.


Thu Jan 30th 11:30am - 12:30pm

This open-mic celebration will feature participants from the “Radiant Stars of Love” MLK Writing Workshop reading their work as well as other attendees who would like to share their writing about themes of love and social justice.
